Chief Operating Officer, Leadership, based in New York
Asked what simplicity means to him, Mike says, “The ability to communicate information quickly and accurately.” Clearly, he has an affinity for efficiency—a trait that serves him (and us) well as Siegel+Gale’s chief operating officer. His mandate to help eliminate the unnecessary and focus on the essential makes him far more than just a numbers guy; he plays a key role in managing the firm’s overall short- and long-term success and serves as a trusted advisor on strategic as well as operational issues.
For more than 20 years, he’s cultivated a successful career that’s included a number of executive financial posts at a variety of firms. Before joining Siegel+Gale, Mike worked for Time Warner, where he oversaw the strategic development and implementation of the company’s financial compliance program. Prior to that, as senior vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer of Rare Medium Group, Inc., an e-commerce consulting and venture capital firm, Mike managed the accounting and SEC compliance functions of the consulting operations and venture portfolio. Earlier in his career, he spent 10 years in the assurance group of KPMG LLP, where he worked with SEC registrants in the Information, Communications and Entertainment practice in New York.
Mike has led a variety of speaking engagements on financial compliance issues, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Pace University, where he also serves on the accounting board.
