Dan Vasconcelos

Design Director, Brand development, based in London

As a child Dan cut windows on empty shoe boxes, transforming them into building models. He gave each building a name, created a logo and presented it to his parents as a new property development. “I was expected to become an architect,” said Dan, “but I decided to build brands instead and have been happy with my decision ever since.”

Dan's worldwide clients are happy, too. Over the course of his 14-year career Dan has developed award-winning strategic brand solutions for a wide range of companies in the UK, Europe and the Americas. His ability to translate strategy into visual expression has led to successful projects for such brands as Unilever, SPAR Group, Electrolux and L’Artisan Parfumeur.

Before joining us Dan was design director at Appetite London, an independent brand consultancy, where he secured a coveted place in the London Olympic Park design roster as well as winning gold at the Transform Awards 2012 for rebranding Trapoil. He served in that same capacity at The Walt Disney Company and Electronic Arts where he worked for global entertainment franchises such as Harry Potter, FIFA Soccer and Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Earlier in his career Dan was design manager at Globo, Brazil's largest media conglomerate. He also worked at London-based agencies Future Brand and The Brand Union, amongst others, as a freelance designer.

An MA in integrated marketing communications at the University of Westminster brought Dan to London in 2004. Previously he graduated with a BA in industrial design and graphic communication from Pontifical Catholic University in his native Rio de Janeiro.
