Erin

It would be interesting to see the packaging for the Simple shoes. Most shoes come boxed, stuffed with paper, wrapped in more paper and accompanied by one of those mysterious chemical drying packets. I can only hope that these shoes travel with simple wrapping that fulfills their promise to the environment.

You make a really good point, Irene, and I would add:
1) making a product out of recycled materials doesn't insure it's "sustainable", and
2) it seems to me the "simplest" way for a company to reduce its carbon footprint would be to sell fewer shoes (which doesn't make for an advisable business plan).

Better to set realistic expectations about what your product, service or company can deliver, rather than promising you can save the world with a pair of eco-friendly shoes.
